Malaysia wins gold and silver at dodgeball world championship

Competing against some of the best players in the world, Malaysia emerges as champions in the Dodgeball World Championships in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday, 22 October 2016 when the women's team defeated Canada at the finals, winning the country's its first gold medal in the sport.

The local team won against the Canadian team by a close 6-5, while the U.S. team settled for bronze.

That's not all, the Malaysia men's team has also done our country proud by clinching a silver medal at the finals.

"Thank you Malaysia. Thank you to everyone who supported us. Thank you to the players who showed relentlessness. Thank you Malaysian Association of Dodgeball (MAD) for bringing Malaysian dodgeball to where it is now. Thank you Australian Dodgeball Federation for hosting the most intense tournament yet," wrote the Malaysia Association of Dodgeball (MAD) on their official Facebook page.

"One Gold and One Silver... next year we'll bring back double gold. Once again we did our best and we hope we did Our Malaysia Proud."

Back in April, Malaysia men's team had also won a silver medal at the finals of the World Championship of Dodgeball held at Manchester, England against England.
