Maggie Chiang releases new single

17 Oct – Taiwanese singer-songwriter Maggie Chiang is planning to launch a new album at the end of this year to celebrate her 20th year in music, but for now, the singer decided to present the fans with her new single, "Spinning Top" (translated title).

As reported on Epoch Times, the singer, who got married and gave birth to her first child in 2015, shared that the new song is a metaphor of how she keeps rotating around with her various identities as a mother, wife, daughter, and performer.

"Like a spinning top, happiness comes from constant rotation. It let me experiment on things and I gain experience from it," she said.

The music video for the song also shows Maggie doing her daily routine, from making breakfast, looking at family photos, playing with her dogs, listening to music, singing, and more.

"I want this song to become the source of strength for everyone. These rotating processes will become the driving force for growth, helping you face everything that you encounter," she said.

The new song and its music video will be released on 17 October.

Speaking about motherhood, Maggie, whose son turned three last month, admitted that she found herself paying more and more attention to everything related to children.

"Whenever I see a child crying or being wronged, my motherhood kicks in and I feel like protecting the child. They are born into this world to be loved. Every child should be properly cared for. This is our responsibility," she said.
