Madonna reveals how the upcoming biopic of her life and career is shaping up
Madonna has opened up about the planned biopic of her life and career, which she is currently working on with Diablo Cody, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Juno.
During a 65 minute-long video to her Instagram Live account, the legendary singer revealed that the film will be about her “struggle as an artist trying to survive in a man's world as a woman, and really just the journey.”
She said it will be “happy, sad, mad, crazy, good, bad and ugly”.
The 62-year-old added: "We do talk about Andy [Warhol], and Keith [Haring], and Jean-Michel Basquiat and Martin Burgoyne and the whole coming up as an artist in Manhattan, downtown, Lower East Side in the early '80s.
“Honestly, [it's] one of the best times of my life, and one of the worst times. I hope I can portray or express what a thrilling time that was for me in every way.”
Madonna also revealed that it won’t be a musical, but will obviously include “a lot of music,” and that, at the moment, her and Cody have written 107 pages of a script that they predict will equate to a runtime of around two hours.

She even teased a “great scene” that will depict her writing Like A Prayer with Pat Leonard, as well as her “devastating experience with Pepsi”. This saw the soft drinks company drop Madonna after a backlash to her Like A Prayer music video.
At the moment, the biopic is untitled.
