"Madalena" selected as opening film at Hong Kong Asian Film Festival

27 Sep - The Chrissie Chau-starrer, "Madalena" has recently been selected as the opening film for the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival (HKAFF).

The said movie, which co-stars Louis Cheung, previously received good reception at the 23rd Udine Far East Film Festival, and is qualified for the 55th Taipei Golden Horse Film Project.

Speaking about the selection, Chrissie stated, "After all the obstacles that we had to endure before production began, of course I am elated that the good news keeps on going."

"I want to thank the director for her perseverance in completing the movie so that people from around the world may be able to enjoy it," she added.

Directed by Emily Chan and produced by Louis Koo's One Cool Pictures, "Madalena" revolves around the friendship of a Macau taxi driver and his passenger who works as a restaurant receptionist by day and bar hostess by night.

The Aubrey Lam directed "Twelve Days" has also been selected as the opening film at the said festival, sharing the honour with "Madalena".
