Macaulay Culkin Wants Donald Trump's 'Home Alone 2' Cameo Replaced With Adult Macaulay Culkin
Impeachment, in some ways, is kind of like going full Marie Kondo. Once you start trying to get rid of things, you just want to get rid of everything that does not bring you joy. So after two impeachments, why not also try and remove Donald Trump from Home Alone 2? Better yet, why not get super meta about the entire thing and replace him with a 40-year-old version of the film's star, Macaulay Culkin? That was the idea that one Twitter user presented this week, and as far as Culkin's concerned, he's down for it, as well.
After posting the concept of digitally replacing Trump's short cameo in the film, Culkin found the tweet and simply responded, "Sold." The cameo in question is the short scene where Kevin McAllister runs into Trump while making his way through the Plaza Hotel—owned by Trump at the time. Culkin asks him for directions before heading off again. Knowing that, it makes the idea of Culkin asking adult Culkin even more rich.
According to an interview with Insider from last month, Trump bullied his way into the film, asking for a cameo in exchange for shooting in the hotel, which Home Alone 2 had already paid for. Director Chris Columbus explained, "Trump said OK. We paid the fee, but he also said, 'The only way you can use the Plaza is if I'm in the movie.' So we agreed to put him in the movie."

Considering how the internet works these days, don't expect to wait too long before someone cranks out a deepfake version of the film with Culkin dubbed in. In the mentions of Culkin's tweet, someone has already said that if Culkin films himself, he'd be happy to do the editing work. And considering how much Donald Trump loves the fame of Donald Trump, he'd probably be more mad about being erased from his only film appearance than being the only president in history impeached twice. Sad!
