Macaulay Culkin has been tapped to star in the holiday campaign for Happy Socks.

The actor, perhaps best known for his role as Kevin McCallister in beloved Christmas films Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, has leaned into his quirky persona by fronting a playful video for the Swedish lifestyle brand.

In the 30-second clip titled Naughty or Nice, Macaulay is seen holding a pet iguana and making comments such as, "You know, every day is a holiday - except for, the holidays," "I'm getting too old for this s**t," and "Christmas is fine."

Throughout the advert, the 39-year-old shows off a pair of red and white polka dot socks with snowman motifs.

In addition, he has teamed up with the designers at Happy Socks on a limited-edition three-pack gift box, featuring socks with Christmas motifs and the fluffy bunny icons from his satirical website BunnyEars. The set is priced at $46 (£35.95).

"Both Happy Socks and I have really good taste in spokesman," said Macaulay of the collaboration. "But yeah, Christmas is my time of year. I get recognised 10x more between the months of November and January. I have no idea why!"

While Viktor Tell, co-founder and creative director of Happy Socks, added that he was thrilled to work alongside the star on the designs.

"It's not really the holidays unless there are socks under the tree, and Macaulay is on the TV screen. So, we put the two together creating this weird and wonderful seasonal delight!" he praised.

Happy Socks' latest collection is available to purchase from the company's website, concept stores, and at selected retailers.
