This post contains spoilers for the Lupin Part 2 finale.

By now we know well that Assane Diop is always one—or five—steps ahead. His brilliant planning and well positioned allies allowed him to finally get his enemy Hubert Pelligrini arrested in the Season One (or Part Two, whatever you want to call it) finale of the French Netflix thriller. The final, grand action scene provided some closure for the storyline of Season One, as Diop extracted a verbal confession out of Pelligrini for framing his father all those years ago, and aired his truth to the world. But the game is not—contrary to what Diop told Claire and Raoul in the finale—over yet.

On a Netflix-funded website titled just assane-diop.com, the words “Lupin will return for a Part 3” flash across the screen. Star of the series Omar Sy confirmed the next part of the popular Netflix series on Twitter on May 11, too. "We can't hide anything from you," he tweeted in both French and English. "Lupin part 3 is confirmed!"

Although the powerful Pelligrini and police commissioner Dumont are shown cuffed and headed to jail in the finale, we’ve seen these men finagle their way out of capture before. Pelligrini has France’s Secretary of the Interior on speed dial, after all. Plus, Diop is still technically wanted for murder, and on the run from the cops. With him in hiding, and without any closure on his relationships with Juliette or Claire, there’s plenty left to explore in Part 3.

There's no date announced yet for Lupin's return, so until then, we'll be in the catacombs waiting. The secret map ones, of course.
