Lucy Hale felt “liberated” after she cut off her long hair for the first time.
The actress famously had wavy, brunette locks for her role as Aria Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars, but in recent years, has been rocking a long bob or ‘lob’ hairstyle.
While some fans were shocked by her dramatic transformation, Lucy has no desire to go back to her former ‘do.
“It was the most liberating thing I’ve ever done,” the 30-year-old told U.S. Cosmopolitan magazine, adding that she is often stunned by the comments she receives from men over her tresses. “I couldn’t tell you the amount of times when guys were like, ‘You should grow your hair out again. I like long hair.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not cutting my f**king hair for you.’ I cut my hair for me. And I feel great with it this way.”
And Lucy, who is known for her chic off-duty outfits, is adamant her bold aesthetic extends to her clothing and cosmetics choices too.
“A lot of guys don’t like a bold lip colour. I love a bold lip colour. I don’t care. I don’t care! I truly don’t dress for men at all. I dress for me and what I think is cool,” she insisted.
Elsewhere in the chat, Lucy shared that she is really into menswear-inspired tailoring at the moment and counts The Row designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as her style inspiration.
“More masculine stuff is really cool to me. I’ve never been the girl who’s like, ‘Ooh, tighter, lower, shorter.’ I constantly want to dress like an Olsen twin,” the Katy Keene star laughed.
