Lu Chuan wants to work with HK's top stars

20 Sep - Award-winning Chinese director Lu Chuan recently stated that it will be a great thing if he could cast Hong Kong actors in his new movie.

As reported on Singtao, the filmmaker who is known for his critically-acclaimed movies such as "City of Life and Death" and "Kekexili: Mountain Patrol", shared that he will begin the production of a new disaster movie at the end of the year, although no actor has been confirmed just yet.

When asked if he would work with Hong Kong actors, Lu responded, "I won't deny the possibility. I have worked with a lot of Hong Kong film studios, so I really like their actors."

Lu shared that among the many Hong Kong stars, he admires top stars like Tony Leung (Chiu Wai), Andy Lau, Chow Yun Fat, Sean Lau, and Anthony Wong.

"They are really amazing actors," he added.

When asked if he will take the opportunity to meet them, Lu, who is in Hong Kong to attend the screening of his movie, "Born in China" at the Chinese Film Panorama 2017, shared that he will need more time to sit down and talk with these actors.
