Do You Love Your Doggo Enough to Throw a Birthday Party for ’Em? Same. Here’s How to Do It
A furry shoulder to cry on, your favorite cuddle buddy (who doesn't hog the remote), and the perfect running partner, we know your pet gets just how much you appreciate them. But, um, that doesn't mean you can't throw a public display of appreciation party for no apparent reason. Whether you’re just celebrating the existence of your dog, National Puppy Day (March 23, FYI), your fur baby’s birthday, Gotcha Day, there are plenty of ways to appreciate your pooch.
Celebrate solo at home or have some of their favorite doggie friends over, just make sure you're prepared with snacks, ample play areas, and plenty of room to run. If you're short on space, consider socializing outside at your local dog park. Pack some of your pup's favorite snacks and make sure there's plenty of water to keep all of your four-legged friends hydrated. We've got some playful suggestions for how to make the day worthy of those extra tail wags.
1. Get creative with snacks.
Whether you're celebrating solo or with a pack of other pooches, you're going to need a dog-themed snack. These cupcakes are packed with ingredients they'll love like carrots and peanut butter. If you're hosting humans make sure to differentiate between human and pet food. A little hand sanitizer to make it easy to switch back and forth might not be a bad idea either.

2. Set the mood without being sappy.
If you're going to throw a birthday party for your dog you need to have a sense of humor about it. This sign feels playful and fun without taking itself too seriously.

It doesn't have to be fancy but a banner or punny sign and some streamers create the perfect photo opp for your pup and all their pals. Just don't be surprised when they ham it up.
4. Spice up the presentation.
Sure you might be serving up kibble but that doesn't mean it can't look cute. Lean into a theme like they did here with bone-shaped bowls and centerpieces. Guests (and their owners) can take home the bowl as a party favor.
5. Don't forget the party hats.
A multipack of mini party hats won't be wasted. Slip them onto your dog and the furry guests or pass them around for humans to wear too. You've got to love the versatility—they look equally ridiculous on whoever wears them.
6. Buy some beer for dogs.
