Louis Vuitton launches first unisex jewelry collection, LV Volt

Francesca Amfitheatrof – current artistic director of Louis Vuitton jewellery and watches; former design director at Tiffany & Co – puts the spotlight on the capital L and V letters in the luxury brand’s first unisex collection, which draws on the house’s abstract art forms.

The brand’s iconic initials are a metaphor for movement, an allegory for momentum, an apologia for the essential and a symbol of speed.

Expressed in five variations, the first variation showcased the initials L and V in their pure form, with a smaller V set in the heart of the L. Here are the collections in detail:

LV One showcased the initials L and V in their pure form, with a smaller V set with a diamond in the centre of the L, representing the heart of Louis Vuitton.

For LV Multi, the L and V are deconstructed and split apart in an infinite repetition, appearing on rings and bracelets like beats pulsating in a continuous tempo, and always seek what is next.

The L and V in the LV Curb Chain intertwined to become a link in the form of necklaces and bracelets, a signature silhouette that is instantly recognisable and iconic.

In LV Upside Down, the initials interact in a one up and one down formation like a vital pulse, and turning into voltage and representing the spirit of rhythm and dance.

And finally, for LV Mesh, the initials gather and stack up to form a supple mesh, fluid and like liquid gold, flowing onto pieces like a bandana almost like embroidery in motion.

In the campaign photos, the four talents featured are Oscar-winning Swedish actress and Louis Vuitton ambassador Alicia Vikander; Hugo Marchand; principal dancer at the Paris Opera Ballet Sharon Alexie; and Chinese model XiaoXing Mao.

The LV Volt Collection pre-launches in from today onwards in Louis Vuitton boutiques Marina Bay Sands Island Maison, ION Orchard, and Takashimaya Shopping Centre Ngee Ann City and www.louisvuitton.com.
