27 Aug – Despite the concerning situation surrounding the Hong Kong film industry, with many productions halting their projects due to the pandemic, it was revealed that the benevolent actor-producer Louis Koo has continued on with his charity work even if the money has not been coming in as much.
As reported on Singtao Daily, several netizens recently shared that they discovered that Louis had donated a large sum of money for the establishment of four new school buildings, including one for a primary school in Anhui's Sungangzhen, and a kindergarten in Chengguan's district of Lanzhou.
It is noted that Louis had donated a lot of money towards building schools in the poorer areas in mainland China since 2008, with more than 100 school buildings built in total. He had also donated to the establishment of infirmaries and wells through the Louis Koo Charity Foundation following the Sichuan earthquake.
On the other hand, as the president of the Hong Kong Performing Artiste Guild (HKPAG), Louis had conducted several charity events and various projects to help film workers whose jobs were affected by the pandemic, in addition to his many individual assistance towards colleagues with financial and medical issues.
