Louis C.K. mocks Parkland shooting survivors and queer community in leaked comedy set

Audio from a Louis C.K. comedy set has been leaked online and in it, he mocks the survivors of the Parkland shooting, young people and the queer community.

The comedian returned to the comedy circuit nine months after the New York Times published a #MeToo story featuring five women who alleged he masturbated in front of them without their consent.

C.K. confirmed the truth of their accusations and in his apology said: “I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want. I will now step back and take a long time to listen.”

The audio from a comedy set (performed at the Governor’s Comedy Club in Long Island, New York on December 16) sounds like he’s done listening and is now firing back in what many believe is poor taste.

The clip posted to YouTube has been taken down but writer Mike Pearl transcribed some of C.K.’s jokes.

Of the Parkland survivors who have become leading social and political activists, the comedian said: “They testify in front of Congress these kids…What are you doing? You’re young you should be crazy, you should be unhinged. Not in a suit saying “I’m here to tell you…” F**k you.

‘You’re not interesting because you went to a high school where kids got shot. Why does that mean I have to listen to you? Why does that make you interesting? You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way and now I gotta listen to you talking.”

It seems that C.K. is purposefully venturing into problematic territory because he believes the public’s opinion of him will never change.

“What are you – going to take away my birthday? My life is over. I don’t give a s**t,” he said.

Many people in the audience enjoyed his set but after the audio leaked online public opinion regarding the comedian was at an all-time low.
