Lonely Planet names Singapore's Keong Saik Road among best travel destinations in Asia

Here’s another reason to visit Keong Saik Road – the area in Singapore’s Chinatown has been ranked fourth in Lonely Planet’s Best in Asia travel destination guide.

The second edition of the guide said that despite once being “a crime-riddled red-light district, Keong Saik Road has reinvented itself to become the poster-child for hip New Singapore”.

Lonely Planet pointed to Keong Saik Road’s keen selection of food and hospitality options, such as Asian fusion restaurant Meta, cocktail bar Potato Head Singapore and Naumi Liora hotel’s “heritage chic” style.

Nearby Neil Road and Tek Lim Road have also been influenced by Keong Saik Road to develop their own personalities, the guide said.

This is the second travel accolade that Singapore has received in a month. Universal Studios Singapore was named as the top amusement park in Asia by TripAdvisor in June 2017.
