9 Sep – Jun "Khalid" Cadena, the father of celebrated vlogger Lloyd Cadena, recently expressed his sadness over the death of his young son at the age of 26.
As reported on Inquirer, in a vlog that he uploaded, the senior Cadena who is an overseas Filipino worker based in the Middle East, stated that he found out about the death of his son from his daughter while he was at work.
"She called me, 'Papa, Lloyd's gone'. It hurts. It's hard to accept that he died. My son is good. I didn't even see him for the last time. I'm so sorry I didn't see you for the last time," he said as he broke down in tears.
However, Cadena also asked the public and viewers alike to refrain from asking too many questions about the death, and to give the family some privacy.
One of the famous YouTuber in the Philippines, Lloyd Cadena amassed more than five million subscribers on the platform.
In a statement released by the family, it was revealed that the 26-year-old was confined in the hospital on 1 September due to high fever and dry cough, and was later diagnosed with COVID-19. He was revealed to have suffered a heart attack while asleep in the wee morning of 4 September.
His remains were cremated the day after.
