After finally getting a release date, the long-gestating and trouble Gambit movie has just landed itself a female lead: Masters of Sex star Lizzy Caplan.

Variety reports that the 35-year-old is currently in talks with 20th Century Fox to star alongside Channing Tatum. No details of her part were available, so it’s unclear if she’ll be replacing French actress Lea Seydoux, who was previously cast as Gambit’s paramour Bella Donna Boudreaux.

Another possibility is that Caplan might play Candra the Benefactress, who’s expected to be the villain of the piece.

Caplan is best known for playing the sexologist Virginia Johnson on MoS, a role which has garnered her Emmy nominations. She’s also appeared in Cloverfield, 127 Hours, Now You See Me 2, and Allied.
