5 Feb – Despite getting the encouragement from both Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Liza Soberano stated that she still doesn't see herself becoming a beauty queen.
As reported on Inquirer, the 22-year-old actress who spoke about the endorsement from both Gray and Wurtzbach, admitted that it was a flattering compliment coming from two successful beauty queens, but added, "I honestly don't see it in my career path."
"I don't want to say I'm closing the doors to this possibility completely. It's just that I'm very passionate about my acting and being a beauty queen takes time," she added.
Soberano added that if she were to compete in a pageant, she would have to spend a lot of time preparing for it.
"I'd have to perfect my walk. And since I'm no beauty queen, this requires a lot of training," she added.
In a previous interview, Gray stated that she felt Soberano would be wonderful as a beauty queen.
"But I really feel that it needs to be the girl who wants to do it. Even if you have so many people saying, 'Yes, this is for you! This is your path!' unless you feel it... It needs to be your own passion, it needs to be your own will," she added.
Soberano previously portrayed Pia Wurtzbach in a 2017 episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" about the life of the said beauty queen.
