If there’s a step in your skincare routine you should never skip, it’s sunscreen.

Every dermatologist in the world will wax lyrical about the importance of wearing a daily SPF to protect your skin from harmful UV rays that result in long lasting sun damage and premature ageing.

And if there’s one celebrity to take recommendations from, it’s Elizabeth Hurley.

The British bombshell is clearly living her best life this summer as she treated her fans to a sultry snap of her soaking up the last of the August sunshine.

But she didn’t do so without protecting her skin with an SPF.

In the image posted to her Instagram account, she can be seen floating in the middle of a pool sporting a black and white striped bikini and a pair of sunglasses.

Fans of the model were quick to point out how fit and relaxed she looked, but Liz knows that if she’s going to be spending a lot of time outside, she has to ensure that her beautiful skin is always protected.

When one fan tried to guess which sunscreen she was wearing, Liz revealed that she uses none other than Creme de la Mer.

The Creme de la Mer SPF 50 UV Protecting Fluid is well loved for its lightweight, soothing formula that can easily be worn under makeup or simply alone.

The luxury sunscreen is a well-known celebrity favourite for its lightweight, soothing formula that can be easily worn under makeup or alone.

The description of the sunscreen reads: “Our daily SPF 50 requirement. Let this luxurious, quick-absorbing fluid help defend skin against everyday exposure to UV rays, helping to prevent future discolouration. Designed to be worn over your moisturiser or under makeup, this soothing, lightweight lotion infuses skin with the sea-sourced renewing energies of Miracle Broth™.”

The brand’s famous Miracle Broth contains sea kelp which is said to have exceptional self-regenerating powers. But if you want to get your hands on this sunscreen, it will set you back £85 for 100ml.

The eternally-youthful model is a clear fan of Creme de la Mer. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in 2012, she revealed she often reaches for La Mer’s Facial Spray and sprays it liberally and frequently to stay hydrated throughout the day.

And it’s clearly working.

But if the luxury skincare brand is out of your budget, your skin doesn’t have to suffer. There are plenty of cheaper alternatives that work just as well and will keep your skin protected from the sun all day long.
