Liverpool are anticipating offers from three Premier League clubs for Caoimhin Kelleher this summer, according to a report – which has prompted them to pursue a replacement.

Kelleher has found gametime hard to come by this season due to the form of Alisson Becker. The Liverpool number one isn’t going to decline any time soon, so it might be important for his backup to find an exit route.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool now expect to receive offers for Kelleher this summer. Specifically, he is being targeted by Tottenham, Brentford and Brighton.

Tottenham are ready to replace Hugo Lloris as their main goalkeeper this summer and have been linked with an abundance of potential targets, including Kelleher.

Brentford, meanwhile, have put David Raya on the transfer list as the final year of his contract approaches.

And Brighton have recently been using Jason Steele instead of Robert Sanchez, who has previously attracted interest from other clubs.

Therefore, Kelleher could play more at any of those clubs than he would by staying at Liverpool – despite Jurgen Klopp’s insistence that he would only sell the Irishman for a substantial offer.

Liverpool will have to be planning for any possible outcome regarding Kelleher. As such, Nogomania is now reporting who could replace him.

According to the report, Liverpool remain keen on New England Revolution goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic, who is described as ‘by far the best goalkeeper in America’.

Other suitors queue up for Petrovic

Man Utd and Benfica are also on Petrovic’s trail. Although he is under contract with the Revolution until December 2025, there is a feeling he has already ‘outgrown’ MLS.

A return to Europe could beckon for the Serbia international, who previously developed with Cukaricki.

If he was to join Liverpool or Man Utd, it is almost certain he would have to sacrifice regular gametime for now. He might have the potential to develop into a Premier League number one in the long term, though.

Petrovic will have to weigh up which factors are important to him, especially after enhancing his reputation so much in the USA.

At Liverpool, his progress might actually slow down due to a decrease in gametime. On the other hand, though, there aren’t many better goalkeepers to learn from than Alisson.

Kelleher’s role will be a tough one to fill due to the high esteem in which he is held by Klopp. But if he pushes for an exit, as Football Insider has predicted he might, then Liverpool will have to react decisively.
