Shoppers who miss the old Funan DigitaLife Mall have something to look forward to at the new Funan showsuite.

Using virtual reality (VR) technology, the two-storey showsuite located at the intersection of High Street and Hill Street gives an immersive look at the new lifestyle mall. The new Funan is slated to open in 2019.

Visitors to the showsuite can look forward to a series of craft workshops, film screenings, product launches and community talks. Prospects, analysts and investors can also use the mall’s immersive five-wall VR studio to explore potential business developments and partnerships.

Funan also announced an array of anchor tenants and shops. Outlets will include a high-tech food court by Kopitiam, a multi-dimensional cinema by Golden Village and a 50-lane climbing facility by Climb Central.

A 380-seat theatre with an innovative thrust stage design will be built by local theatre company W!ld Rice. The venue will be the first theatre in Singapore located within a commercial complex and wholly designed, managed and programmed by a theatre group. Other home-grown brands such as Keepers and Carrie K. will also set up flagship stores in the new mall.

Vice-president of Funan’s retail development Kevin Siew said, “We envision Funan as Singapore’s creative intersection where passion meets discovery, and the showsuite is its microcosm – an inviting space that serves as a platform for people to express themselves and be inspired.”

“We are immensely proud to be working with some of the best Singapore talents, makers and entrepreneurs – both budding and established – to turn Funan’s showsuite into a living showcase of local creative prowess. We hope this will inspire more people to pursue their passions and meet fellow enthusiasts at Funan’s showsuite,” he continued.

The showsuite will be open to public daily from 30 April 2017, between 11am and 9pm.
