"Little Q" team condemns attack on its star Simon Yam

23 Jul – The team of Simon Yam's new movie, "Little Q", has recently released a statement condemning the recent assault against the actor, which resulted in a 3-centimetre deep wound to his abdomen and injuries to the fingers of his right hand.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the statement, which was released immediately following the news of the incident, read, "The team of "Little Q" is shocked and strongly condemns this deliberate attack. The violent behaviour of the attacker has not only severely harmed our actor physically and mentally but also led to the public's fear for safety in the society.

"We hope that the attacker's behaviour would receive the prosecution it deserves."

At the same time, the studio also urged the public not to spread any unconfirmed news regarding the case.

The team also stated that Simon will not be involved in future promotional events and will instead focus on his treatment and recovery.

Simon was originally scheduled to join co-stars Gigi Leung and Him Law for the film's promotional event in Beijing after his event in Zhongshan - where the attack took place.

Based on the Japanese novel "Quill", Law Wing Cheung's "Little Q" revolves around the relationship between a blind man and his guide dog.
