Lisa Ch'ng saddened by the damage on boyfriend's restaurant

6 Jan – Lisa Ch'ng recently admitted that she was quite saddened that boyfriend Mat Yeung's restaurant STEW was vandalised on New Year's Day.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke about the incident at the wrap up party of the new Lunar New Year movie, "All's Well, Ends Well 2020", stated that both she and Mat were a bit upset upon being informed of what had happened, as they never expected such a thing would occur.

"We could only try to do the repairs as soon as possible. We don't want to affect the neighbours and the usual customers," she said.

Asked how much damage was done, Lisa stated that they haven't made the total estimation, but that Mat's business partner is already handling everything.

"We may not use glass again in the future, since the broken glass could hurt customers. We would use safe material instead. But the restaurant is still in operation, just not looking as good as it was before," she stated.

As to whether she would tolerate the online criticisms about the food served by STEW, the actress said that they try to understand and reflect, and hopefully improve the quality of the food.

It is noted that prior to the vandalism, Mat was revealed to have attended an event held by the Hong Kong police, and even expressed his support for them - much to the annoyance of the supporters of the Hong Kong protests.
