Given that she made her start with Disney, it’s no surprise that Lindsay Lohan *really* wants to star as Ariel in any future live-action The Little Mermaid remake.

It’s safe to say that we learned pretty much everything about life from The Little Mermaid (mostly, that contract law is pretty confusing). So, when we learned that they were making a live-action version of the underwater romance, we were suitably excited, something that exploded tenfold when we learned that Hamilton and Moana songwriter, Lin-Manuel Miranda, would be involved.

And now Lindsay Lohan has put her hat into the ring saying she desperately wants to play Ariel in The Little Mermaid remake.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lindsay shared a picture of herself next to the cartoon Ariel, writing that she’d love to play the role, and petitioning Disney to sign her up for it.

I will sing again, as #ariel #thelittlemermaid [if] @Disney approve that #billcondon directs it,” she wrote, before editing the post to just read: “#thelittlemermaid.”

Lindsay also suggested that athlete Kristen Graham play Ursula in the live-action remake, and requested that her sister, Aliana Lohan, sing the movie’s theme song.

Given that Disney hasn’t officially confirmed the movie, and that Lin-Manuel Miranda said that things were in “super-early talks,” there’s definitely a shot that Lindsay could pick up the coveted role of Ariel. What’s more, if Beauty and the Beats performs well at the box office when it’s released this March (it SO will), it’s also possible that Bill Condon, who is directing it, could be brought on board for The Little Mermaid remake.

Lindsay has been pretty open about her desire to return to acting. The star hasn’t had that many new opportunities in Hollywood in the last few years, and we totally think that Ariel would be a perfect role for her. We can picture it now, and we know that she’d absolutely kill it, too.

Despite moving away from L.A. to spend more time in Europe focusing on her humanitarian causes involving refugees, Lindsay recently shared a treatment for a possible sequel to Mean Girls, too, something that we 100% support.

Tbh, we’d love to see 2017 be the year that Lindsay Lohan made a true return to the movies. We’re so rooting for her, and hope that all of this becomes a reality.
