Lin Chi-ling's happy ending started with a phone call

5 Dec– Lin Chi-ling recently admitted that one phone call she made to husband Akira was the catalyst that eventually led to their marriage.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who shared her love story with VOGUE Taiwan, revealed that the two of them had been friends for eight years since meeting on the set of the 2011 stage play, "Red Cliff, Love".

However, it all changed after the death of her grandmother, when a heartbroken Lin called Akira to express her grief about the loss.

"When I went home that night, I was so sad that I couldn't breathe. The first person I thought of was Akira. As soon as I called him, I started sobbing and wasn't able to stop until I fell asleep. I didn't know how long I was asleep, but then I realised that my phone was still connected. When I said hello, he responded, "I'm here"," she said.

Lin said that that was the moment that she realised Akira was the man for her.

Akira also echoed the same notion, saying that he realised from their interaction following her grandmother's death that they are made for each other.

The two announced their marriage in June this year, and followed it with a wedding in Tainan that was held in November.
