Light to Night Festival transforms civic district into nocturnal wonderland

The Civic District was transformed into a nocturnal wonderland for Singapore Art Week’s marquee event Light to Night Festival.

Spearheaded by National Gallery Singapore, the festival features facade projections titled Art Skins on Monuments across four cultural institutions – the National Gallery, the Arts House, Asian Civilisations Museum, and Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall. The projections are images created by local creatives and change every few minutes.

Another projection is Chromascope by Spinifex Group at the City Hall facade where visitors can interact with the work by stepping on stomping pads at the Padang. Festival visitors also get to enjoy light installations, a colour-changing tunnel and mirror illusions from Empress Garden to Esplanade Park.

During the Light to Night festival, which runs from 19 to 28 January 2018, more than 80 food and craft stalls will operate at The Padang, while there will also be programmes such as readings, music performances, poetry recitations and artist talks.
