Li Bingbing says "Meg" is a new kind of challenge

17 Aug - While she has worked in several Hollywood projects before, Li Bingbing admitted recently that her new movie, "Meg" poses a new challenge for her as a Chinese actress.

As reported on Epoch Times, the actress, who appeared at an event for a yoga apparel recently, shared that one of the most difficult thing she has to do is memorise all her lines, jargon and all, in English.

Li said that while she did speak in English in "Resident Evil: Retribution" and "Transformers 4", she was only playing supporting characters; while her role as a chief oceanographer in "Meg" is much more significant and more difficult.

"Although it was difficult, it gave me a sense of accomplishment," she said.

Directed by Jon Turteltaub ("National Treasure", "While You Were Sleeping"), "Meg" tells the story of a former Navy captain and expert diver, Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), who is recruited by chief oceanographer Dr. Zhang (Li) for a risky rescue mission that will have him confront an unknown creature that had once attacked him and his crew.
