Lex Luthor Providing Wi-Fi at New York Comic Con

We know Lex Luthor as many things: criminal mastermind, billionaire tyrant, arch nemesis of Superman, provider of free wi-fi… wait, run that last one by us again?

Yes, in a somewhat quirky PR stunt, it has been announced that free wi-fi at the upcoming New York Comic Con will be provided courtesy of Luthor’s company, LexCorp.

A statement in the FAQ section of the NYCC website reads, “Yes. Free WiFi throughout the Javits Center will be provided by LexCorp Industries.

“LexCorp unites humanity through technology. We believe in technology as a means of communication, unification and a source of inspiration…

“LexCorp – together, we can build a better world.”

This would certainly seem to imply that attendees at NYCC can anticipate some ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ reveals this coming weekend - potentially that epic new trailer we recently heard rumours about?

It’s also interesting to note how heavily the latest run of publicity on ‘Batman V Superman’ hinges on Jesse Eisenberg’s new incarnation of Lex Luthor - who, it was recently revealed, is technically Lex Luthor Jr.

Eisenberg - who follows in the footsteps of previous big screen Lex Luthors Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey - has promised great things from this new take on the character, recently telling Vulture, “This movie is so different … it has real psychological underpinnings, and this movie character feels like a real scary person.”

New York Comic Con runs from the 8th to the 11th of October at New York’s Javits Center, and all tickets for the event are already sold out.

Meanwhile, we now have less than six months to wait for ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ which opens on 25 March 2016.
