Lewis Hamilton wants to play himself in a biopic

As a three time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has already dominated the racing track. But now he’s set his sights to the world of the silver screen, as the driver has insisted that he wants a biopic of his life to be made.

Lewis Hamilton’s demands don’t stop there, though. That’s because he also wants to play himself in the potential film, too, as he admitted that he’s not seen an actor that shares his resemblance enough to do him justice.

“I would probably play myself,” Hamilton confessed. “I have not seen an actor that looks like me or that I’d particularly want to represent me.”

Lewis Hamilton made this admission to the Confidential On Nova radio show, via Metro, explaining, “My story is about coming from humble beginnings. I am probably the last of a dying breed because pretty much every other driver I’m racing with has come from wealth.”

“It will be really telling a family story about where we’ve come from, how we did it as a family, the sacrifices my family made and the trials and tribulations we came across along the way.”

Hamilton continued, “I think it is an inspiring story for people around the world, not to be racing drivers but for anything, for families to stick together as a unit and having dreams and following those dreams and actually achieving them.”

Before becoming one of the biggest names in motorsport, Lewis Hamilton’s father had to work three jobs in order for his son to continue developing his burgeoning expertise in the sport. This all paid off when Hamilton was acquired by McLaren, who he won the 2008 world title with. He has since moved onto Mercedes, where he won back-to-back world championships in 2014 and 2015.

Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to the big-screen, as he previously made cameos in both ‘Zoolander 2’ and ‘Cars 2’. However it’s still a bit of a stretch to imagine him leading his very own film, especially as he’s rather busy contesting for the 2017 Formula One title at the moment, too.
