LEGO fans, you’ll love the new ‘Piece of Peace’ world tour that will be coming to Singapore in July.

The exhibition sees a total of 44 LEGO replicas of UNESCO world heritage sites in three segments namely LOVE EARTH, LOVE ASIA and LOVE ASEAN, perfect for all you MOC (My Own Creation) Lego builders who need a dose of inspiration.

For those who just want to see LEGO builds, you’ll recognise some regional landmarks in the upcoming exhibit.

As part of ASEAN’s 50th anniversary, seven of the ASEAN replicas, which include Singapore’s Botanic Gardens and the Borobudur Temple Compounds at Central Java in Indonesia, were built.

First held in Japan in 2003, the exhibition has attracted more than 2.9 million participants worldwide. Singapore is the first ASEAN country to host it, and the wold tour will not return once it is over as it heads westwards.

“This is not just an ordinary exhibition about building heritage sites using lego but rather it is to promote peace and harmony in the world as we need people to preserve it,” said Vicente Tai, the director of the Executive Committee Secretariat of ‘Piece of Peace’ at a media preview on Wednesday (21 June).

The exhibition will also feature winning works from the LEGO #BuildAmazingSG contest, where parents and children used LEGO bricks to build replicas of what they think best represents Singapore.

Visitors can collect pieces of Singapore’s limited edition food culture mini-LEGO builds, such as chilli crab and nyonya kuehs, when they spend a minimum of $40 on exhibition tickets and $80 on LEGO products at the exhibition’s store in a single receipt.

The Piece of Peace world tour runs from 27 July to 3 September at the Fort Canning Arts Centre from 10am to 9pm on Mondays to Thursdays and from 10am to 12 midnight on Fridays, weekends and public holidays.

Ticket prices start from $13. Only 1,800 visitors will be permitted per day. More information can be found here.
