"The Legend of Ba Qing" to be reshot
14 Oct – After more than a year of being postponed, it was revealed that the Fan Bingbing-starrer, "The Legend of Ba Qing" will be re-shot for future airing.
As reported on Mingpao, the news was announced by production studio Tangde Fengyi, which stated that it has signed a new contract with the CGI company Sky Cat Technology, that will assist them in re-shooting the drama at the end of the year.
Although the company has not confirmed whether or not Fan will be replaced, the statement indirectly hinted that both Fan and her co-star Gao Yunxiang may be changed with new actors.
It is estimated that the cost of the re-shoot would be around RMB 60 million.
The drama was originally scheduled for release in early 2018, but was postponed after its aforementioned lead actor was arrested for suspicion of sexual assault in Sydney, Australia.
It was later rumoured that Fan's then fiancé Li Chen would replace Gao, but things went worse when the actress herself was later involved in the infamous tax evasion scandal, which put her in a forced hiatus for months.
