Lea Salonga: I choose optimism rather than vengeance
14 Jul – Lea Salonga recently expressed her thoughts about the latest development surrounding the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN, in which the house committee rejected the renewal application 70 to 11.
As reported on Rappler, following news that 70 had voted to adopt the rejection, 11 to dismiss the rejection, 2 to inhibit, and 1 to abstain, Salonga took to Twitter and wrote, "We can't always control what happens around us, but we can control how we react. For myself, I choose optimism rather than vengeance and hate."
"In every crisis, there is opportunity. We need to take the time to figure out what that'll be. Tomorrow is another day. Must create," she added.
In another post, however, the musical star admitted that she was also stunned to silence over the decision.
"I ask for kindness please, not for myself, but for everyone else hurting today," she expressed.
