2015 will likely go down in history as the year trans issues made it to the forefront of pop culture—and Thursday evening’s Fashion Media Awards, presented by the Daily Front Row, were a perfect example of that.
Co-hosted by actor Tony Goldwyn and model Toni Garrn, and attended by such A-listers as Anna Kendrick, Lily Aldridge, Wiz Khalifa, Sofia Coppola, and a slew of editors and industry insiders, the ceremony recognized those media outlets and people who’ve gone above and beyond in the fashion news biz over the last 12 months.
Of the 10 awards, two were presented to people who’ve made strides in terms of transgender equality and recognition, both in their personal lives and through their work.
