Laura Dern showcased her love for sustainable fashion as she recycled her 30-year-old Armani Prive dress for the third time at an Oscars after-party.

The 53-year-old, who scooped the Best Supporting Actress gong for her role in Marriage Story during the ceremony, headed to the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscars bash wearing the stunning black gown.

The dress, which featured daring cutouts on the chest, was paired with a pink blazer draped across her shoulders as she hit the red carpet carrying her gold statuette.

Representatives for Giorgio Armani revealed on Instagram that the dress was custom-made for Dern back in 1990.

"Academy Award winner as Best Actress in a Supporting Role Laura Dern attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in a vintage #GiorgioArmani gown which had been originally custom made for the actress in 1990," the official Instagram page for the Italian fashion house shared in a post, alongside a snap of Dern wearing the gown for the third time.

The timeless piece made its debut back in 1995, when Dern attended the Sheba Humanitarian Awards Gala with then-boyfriend Jeff Goldblum to honour Whoopi Goldberg. She simply accessorised the dress with a black velvet shawl and pinned her hair up with a chic barrette.

In 2013, she rocked the Armani Prive gown once again at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, and chose to complement the classic black dress with a chunky gold bracelet and drop earrings.

And Dern wasn't the only Hollywood star to make a sustainable fashion choice for the 2020 Oscars.

Jane Fonda recycled the red Eli Saab gown that she originally wore to the 2014 Oscars, while Best Actor winner Joaquin Phoenix wore the same Stella McCartney suit that he vowed to wear to every ceremony this awards season.
