12 Feb – Veteran actor Lau Dan recently assured that he is doing fine, after taking a short break from work due to sickness.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor who was spotted in TVB City to resume shooting his long-running series, "Come Home Love: Lo and Behold", shared that he only had the common cold, and was battling a fever and cough earlier.
"But I did go to the doctor right away after experiencing discomfort. In view of the recent outbreak, it was important to dispel any doubts about my condition," he said.
However, even before he went to the doctors, Lau said he knew it was not the coronavirus.
"It has different symptoms. But it would have been awful to go to work and cough in the streets. It was safer to just see the doctor. I even wore a mask at home. The whole family prevented me from approaching my granddaughter," he said.
When mentioned that many studios in mainland China has stopped production due to the pandemic, Lau said that there is a positive side to the situation.
"My son [Hawick Lau] had been busy filming for a long time. Because of the pandemic, he was able to return to Hong Kong and spend time with the family and his daughter," he said, adding that Hawick is expected to return to the mainland in April to resume his work.
