With Solo: A Star Wars Story due out next week, Lucasfilm is already looking ahead to its next spinoff movie starring the coolest character in the franchise: Lando Calrissian (sorry, Han).
“We think that the next spinoff will be dedicated to Lando Calrissian,” Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told Premiere. “Of course, there are still many stories to tell about Han and Chewbacca but Lando will be next.”
If Lucasfilm is smart, they've signed Glover on for multiple movies, as they did with Alden Ehrenreich for Han Solo-meaning he'd be the logical star of the next Star Wars spinoff.
With his music project Childish Gambino, his incredible show Atlanta, and his appearance in the latest Star Wars film, much of the buzz surrounding Solo has gone to Donald Glover. In an early review, Variety described Glover's performance as "equal parts suave hustler and foppish brat, Lando gets all of the film’s best laughs and also serves as one half of its most intriguing relationship."
It's only logical that Lucasfilm and Disney would want to make the most talked about man in entertainment the star of their next film. Just please don't distract him from the other 80 projects he has going on right now.
