Lala Hsu wins Best Mandarin Album, Best Female Vocalist

25 Jun – – Taiwanese singer Lala Hsu admitted that she is surprised to have won the Best Mandarin Album at the 29th Golden Melody Awards, seeing how tough her competitions were.

As reported on Epoch Times, the singer, who was one of the big winners at the recent awards ceremony, revealed in her speech that winning the category was like a dream to her because of the other nominees.

"I used to watch the Golden Melody Awards and see the winners shaking hands with everybody, and I thought it was very fake. I never thought that I would be shaking hands with A-Mei and everyone else when I won as well!" she enthused.

Lala, who won for her album, "The Inner Me", admitted that she was fully involved in the making of her album this time around, from the selections of songs and the arrangements.

"The process of making "The Inner Me" was full of twists and turns. Every decision was a test. Up to now, I still think about the kind of perspective we should look at to closely embrace the brokenhearted, but be inclusive at the same time," she said.

Aside from Best Mandarin Album, she also won Best Mandarin Female Vocalist, where she defeated other nominees including giants like A-Mei and Julia Peng.
