Movie magic is definitely real. Do you know how I know? Because Lady Gaga and Adam Driver were living in an endless meet-cute while they filmed House of Gucci in Italy. I mean, they looked like an actual couple, and since Gaga’s totally in love with her beau, Michael Polansky, we know it’s just acting.

Plus, their film isn’t exactly a love story…it’s more of a cautionary tale about love. The House of Gucci biopic follows Patrizia Reggiani (played by Lady Gaga) and the events that lead to her orchestrating the assassination of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver). Doesn’t sound so cute anymore, huh? But you’d never know by looking at these pics!

Exhibit A: We have Gaga—or, um, Patrizia—feeding Maurizio what looks like a delicious snack.

Exhibit B: She has a napkin to clean his mouth, because you don’t let the person you love walk around with a face full with crumbs.

That’s not where the cuteness ends though. Adam and Gaga later spent the day loved up in a canoe. Look at Adam-as-Maurizio rowing about, completely clueless to the fact that the love of his life will kill him! Ah, young love.

Of course, he is the perfect gentleman and carries her out to prevent her outfit from getting wet.

And of course, wedding bells are ringing on-set because Gaga’s in a bridal look (sans Adam, boo):

Which brings us to the last, but certainly not least, photo: Lady Gaga and Adam Driver looking like the epitome of Italian wealth. The hair. The fashion. The BUTLER. It’s just too good.

It almost makes you forget that this story doesn’t have a happy ending. Almost. If this tease has you itching for more, House of Gucci will hit theaters on November 24, 2021.
