Kristen Stewart Haunted Over Text Message in New ‘Personal Shopper’ Trailer (Video)

Kristen Stewart hunts for a sign of her deceased brother but soon gets more than she bargained for when gets haunted by someone — or something — else.

“I’m waiting,” Stewart says in the trailer. “My twin brother moved us out here, we made this oath, who ever died first would send the other a sign.”

Stewart plays Maureen, a young American living in Paris who works as a unique kind of assistant to model/actress/socialite Kyra. She attempts to communicate with her deceased brother and asks for a sign from above, but soon things spiral out of control when she starts receiving text messages from him — or someone else from an unknown phone number.

The film first screened at Cannes Film Festival, where it received several boos during the press screening, then garnered generally positive reviews after.

The film marks a reunion for Stewart with director Olivier Assayas on what TheWrap film reviewer Ben Croll calls an “evil twin” of their previous collaboration, 2014’s “Clouds of Sils Maria.” That film received a standing ovation at Cannes two years ago, and netted Stewart a Cesar, France’s highest acting honor, for best supporting actress.
