Kris Wu wins GMIC's Mainland China Actor of the Year

4 May - Despite his absence, former EXO member Kris Wu was still awarded the 2016 Mainland China Actor of the Year title at the GMIC Awards recently.

As reported on Bintang News, the singer-actor was unable to attend the event due to his obligations filming his new movie, "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" in Canada.

Instead his good friend Kevin Shin accepted the award on his behalf, and relayed Kris' gratitude to the GMIC Awards for the honour and to his fans for their undying support.

Kris also recorded a video of his acceptance speech, which was played at the end of the segment, saying, "I am so happy and it is an honour to win the Mainland China Actor of the Year."

In addition to "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage", Kris is also set to star in another English-language French sci-fi film, "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets".
