Kit Thompson, Mylene Dizon nominated at Film Fest

23 Apr – It was revealed that the two stars of iWant Original film, "Belle Douleur" have been nominated in the 54th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

The news was announced on Facebook by the Festival itself, revealing that both Kit Thompson and Mylene Dizon have been nominated Best Actor and Actress in the Panorama Asia category.

Thompson will be competing with two Japanese actors, Hideyuki Kawahara and Yuh Kamiya - the stars of "Sin-Gone Irony". Meanwhile, Dizon will be facing competition in the likes of Japanese actress Nao Hasegawa ("Beautiful Lure") and Vietnam star Hoang Thi Bich Phuong ("Invisible Love").

The 54th edition of the Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival has started running from 22 April and will go on until the 25th.

"Belle Douler" is a May-December romance story that follows a 45 year-old psychologist named Liz and her relationship with Josh, a 20 year-old musician. It marks the directorial debut of film producer Joji Alonso.

It previously premiered at the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival in 2019, winning the Audience Choice Award for full-length entries.
