While there is very much a Kingsman prequel on the way – one that doesn't feature Taron Egerton's Eggsy – it appears that it's certainly not the last we've seen of the suave but wayward secret agent.

Egerton has revealed that there is already a script for a third (well, fourth) Kingsman movie, and he's read it.

While remaining coy on the details, he said told fans at ACE Comic Con Midwest 'there is a script'.

“It’s a really neat idea,” he went on to say (via Comicbook.com). “That plan, at the moment, is that we’d like to do another one, one more time.”

The first movie, Kingsman: The Secret Service, landed in 2014, helmed by Matthew Vaughn and adapted from Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons' comic book series.

It was followed in 2017 by Kingsman: The Golden Circle, with Egerton once again playing Eggsy, but with a star-studded cast joining him, including Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges.

Then fans were slightly blindsided with news that the next movie, The King's Man, would be going back to the beginning, to the creation of the underground spy network in the First World War.

With Vaughn at the helm once again, it will find Ralph Fiennes as the Duke of Oxford and Rhys Ifans as Rasputin, with Harris Dickinson, Gemma Arterton, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Djimon Hounsou, Daniel Bruhl, Stanley Tucci, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Charles Dance also among the cast.

And while that movie will plumb back into how and why the Kingsmen were created, it appears that we've not seen the last of Eggsy.

Vaughn also told Comicbook earlier this year: “The next movie is what happens to these characters [after the events of The Golden Circle]. They’re definitely not going to be doing what you’ve seen them do before.”

The King's Man lands on February 14, 2020.
