‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ is coming sooner than you thought.

According to Exhibitor Relations, the upcoming ‘Kingsman’ sequel will be heading to cinemas on 29 September 2017… brought forward from 6 October 2017.

“Fox’s KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE has been bumped up a week–the sequel will now open 9/29/17 instead of 10/6.”

Obviously, it’s great news for ‘Kingsman’ fans.

And it could be a really smart move by 20th Century Fox. After all, its original release date would have given it an opening weekend clash with one of the most anticipated sci-fi sequels of all time – ‘Blade Runner 2049’.

Instead, ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ will be going toe-to-toe with the not-at-all-anticipated ‘Flatliners’ remake as well as Tom Cruise flick, ‘American Made’. Whether or not they vacate this slot in favour of another weekend remains to be seen.

But ‘Kingsman 2’ likely won’t have any problems either way.

The original ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ was a surprise hit, starring Taron Egerton as Eggsy – a council estate ruffian who’s given a second chance to become one of the UK’s top spies. Also starring Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson, it went on to great things… and a new sequel soon followed.

And now, we get that sequel a whole week earlier.

Still, with such a small change to the ‘Kingsman 2’s release, it’s unlikely to impact production in any way… so it’s good to see that everything is on track there. And if they’re confident enough to move the film forward rather than pushing it back, that’s good news all round.

‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ stars Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Jeff Bridges, Jalle Berry, Julianne Moore, and Vinny Jones.

Matthew Vaughn directed the film based on a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman.
