Kim Kardashian Reclaims the Trend She Started and Proves She Owns it

Kim Kardashian West and the rest of the Kardashian family have been championing the cycle shorts trend for some time. However, Bella Hadid took it to a whole new level at the Cannes Film festival in May. She donned a pair for a girls’ night out with BFF Kendall Jenner and the cycling short instantly became a hit after dark as well as a gym-goer’s athleisure staple.

Yesterday, however, in Los Angeles, Kim Kardashian chose to reclaim the trend she started and prove that no one can rock a cycle short like a Kardashian. The reality star and KKW beauty mogul was attending the Beautycon festival in L.A., where she was invited to take part as a guest speaker.

She gave the trend a unique new spin, wearing a pair in black with a vintage dress by Italian duo Dolce & Gabbana. The piece had a Meghan Markle approved bateau neckline (although it displayed rather more décolleté than those sported by the Duchess of Sussex), a cutout midriff and a dramatic split at the front. Which is where those shorts came in. Kim accessorized with a miniature Dolce & Gabbana bag and barely there lace-up sandals in nude.

During the 30 minute on-stage discussion, she even proceeded to take selfies on her smartphone with the Beautycon audience in the background.
