Kim Chiu turns blunder into cheerful song

20 May – Rather than let herself be bullied by bashers for her previous blunder in likening the ABS-CBN shutdown issue to classroom rules, Kim Chiu decided to turn her statement into a song instead.

On 19 May, the actress posted a clip of the song, "Bawal Lumabas (The Classroom Song)", which was remixed by DJ Squammy on Instagram, writing, "Things may put you down but we Filipinos do not forget to laugh in the middle of our journey. Thanks to everyone who inspired me."

"Lets spread love, kindness and positivity. Only good vibes can be had in the classroom! Right? Right!" she added.

Earlier this month, Chiu was blasted by netizens for her incomprehensible statement about the cease and desist controversy of ABS-CBN by comparing it to classroom law.

She said, "In a classroom, there are rules like, okay, you can't go out. So you comply because you can't go out but then do something you're not allowed to. You fix the classroom's laws and submit it again, and well, now you can go out."

Chiu later admitted that even she found the statement funny and that she made it while not in the best emotional condition, though was surprised with how much hate she received for it.
