Sometimes, the word “no” is the only appropriate response to someone who wants to place a friendly wager on the odds of you succeeding at doing something completely ridiculous. But if you’re like this kid who tried to jump on a cow’s back after his father bet him $20 to try, you’ll have to learn the hard way.

We imagine his future confessions of a 20-something cattle rancher will go something like, “Gather ’round and let me tell y’all about that time I got internet famous after my dad bet me $20 to jump on a steer’s back.”

Now, we’re sure everyone has their own personal compilation of the worst things ever done on a dare, but in our humble opinions, this kid is getting started way too early (not to mention the fact that these types of hijinks are far more scary than funny).

According to The Daily Dot, Scott Clark filmed his son Asher’s attempt at mounting a cow and posted the video on Facebook.

In the clip, the little boy can be seen approaching the animal from behind, and climbing on its back. But then things went absolutely haywire.

You have to watch this!! Asher snuck up on a 1300# steer and jumped on his back!!! I only wish I had videod the last 3 seconds, he hung on for a few more seconds!! Just so everyone knows, this is his pet steer he hand feeds every day. And Asher is perfectly fine....And he's says he a tough ole cowboy!!Edit- just so everyone knows, I didn't actually think he would be able to sneak up on him, and if he did I didn't think he would jump on him!

The clip ends before we can clearly see what happens, other than the cow going absolutely bonkers before Asher can properly grab hold of it. That said, this has to be one of the absolute worst ideas ever, a sentiment echoed by many of the commenters on Clark’s Facebook post.

However, he responded to the concerns with a message that tells us he *seriously* does not get it.

“Just so everyone knows, this is his pet steer he hand feeds every day. And Asher is perfectly fine….And he’s says he a tough ole cowboy!!” Clark wrote.

UGH. We’re hardcore facepalming right now. To any other parents/adults/literally any human breathing right now who can’t wait to try this dare out on an unsuspecting kid, allow us to leave you with a single word of wisdom: DON’T.
