Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes Are Brothers Flirting With Danger in ‘True Story’ Trailer (Video)

Netflix has released the trailer for “True Story,” a limited series starring Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes that marks Hart’s first dramatic TV role.

Hart stars as Kid, a successful and world-famous comedian (so, maybe not a big stretch for Hart). But when his wayward older brother, played by Snipes, visits him at a stop on his tour, they get into a situation that puts Kid’s livelihood at stake and threatens to destroy everything he’s built.

“Sometimes people get tired of getting looked down on. Sometimes people get fed up with hat s—,” Snipes says on one point in the trailer, followed by Hart’s Kid telling him, “Now I got a lot more to lose than just my career.” Cue lots of quick cuts featuring guns, fights, broken mirrors and Kid in an orange jumpsuit.

“True Story” is written, executive produced and showrun by “Narcos” and “Narcos: Mexico” EP Eric Newman, as part of his overall TV deal with Netflix. Hart also executive produced. Caroline Currier from Grand Electric and Mike Stein and Tiffany Brown from Hartbeat Productions co-produced.

Stephen Williams (“Watchmen,” “Lost”) will direct and executive produce the first three episodes. Hanelle Culpepper (“Star Trek Picard,” “Kung Fu”) will direct the final four episodes.

“True Story” premieres Nov. 24 on Netflix. Check out the trailer above and see a poster for the limited series — featuring the ominous tagline “Betrayal is relative” — below.
