Kevin Hart had his spine fused back together after car crash

Details about Kevin Hart's car crash injuries are slowly emerging.

The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actor, 40, had three fractures to his spine in the Labor Day weekend car crash, according to TMZ.

When Hart underwent surgery on Sunday night, the fractures were fused — two in the thoracic spine, which is the upper and middle part of the back, and one in the lumbar, which is in the lower back.

While the procedure was a success and he's expected to make a full recovery, the website reports that Hart is "still going through hell." He's also been heavily medicated because of the pain. Physical therapy is next, but TMZ says it will be a "long road back."

Hart hasn't spoken out about the crash — during which his friend, Jared Black, reportedly lost control of Hart's 1970 Plymouth Barracuda and crashed through wooden fencing along Mulholland Highway and rolled down an embankment just before 1 a.m. on Sunday morning.

In addition to Hart and Black, Black's fiancee, Rebecca Broxterman, was in the car, which was crushed. Black, who was not under the influence of alcohol, suffered "major back injuries" while Broxterman also complained of pain.

Details about how the crash unfolded have been slowly trickling out with 911 calls being released and eyewitness accounts shared. We have learned that Hart reportedly left the scene — after being pulled out of the driver's side window — with his security while Black and Broxterman remained in the car waiting to be rescued. The star was taken to his Calabasas home with extensive back injuries, and then an hour and a half later, a woman called 911 requesting medical attention for Hart at his house, saying the actor "can't move" and was "not coherent at all." At that point, he was hospitalized.

Hart's wife, Eniko Parrish, was spotted visiting her husband at the hospital on Monday after his surgery. “He’s good, everybody’s good. Thank God,” she said. “He’s fine, he’s awake.”
