Kendall Jenner channelled Jennifer Lopez last night in a hot pink H&M x Giambattista Valli dress.

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, and the 23-year-old supermodel took this to the extreme last night in a look that paid homage to one previously worn the 49-year-old superstar.

Stepping out at the 2019 amfAR Cannes Gala last night, Jenner debuted a dreamy pink tulle look from the H&M x Giambattista Valli collection, to coincide with the announcement of the designer/high street collaboration.

The look was near-identical to a Giambattista Valli gown worn by Jennifer Lopez, who is popularly known as J Lo, in December last year, at the New York premiere of her film 'Second Act'.

The Giambattista Valli x H&M collaboration is the latest in a series of designer capsule collections created for the high street giant. Previous lines have included Balmain, Moschino and Erdem.

A limited-edition pre collection, which can be previewed on the H&M website, consists of nine looks in total, including a lace-corset and a plunging lace dress in blush pink with a train.

It will be released in select H&M stores and online tomorrow, 25 May, ahead of the main collection launch later this year on 7 November.

For those looking to recreate Jenner’s look in its fullness, it’s worth mentioning that her exact floor-length gown doesn’t seem to be part of the pre-collection.

However, a shorter version, which Jenner modelled on her Instagram account yesterday, will be available as part of the likely much-sought-after collection.

Celebrities including Italian blogger Chiara Ferragni and singer H.E.R. also modelled looks from pre-collection for the exclusive fashion partnership during the amfAR Gala event.

Bright pink dresses are having something of a moment this year, with this year’s Oscars red carpet dominated by the micro-trend.

The big pink dress also had a moment on the small screen last year, as a pink tulle Molly Goddard creation became synonymous with Jodie Comer’s ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ character Villanelle in hit series ‘Killing Eve’.
