Kelly Ripa’s 68 Best and Worst ‘Live’ Guest Co-Hosts, Ranked by Average TV Rating (Photos)

Kelly Ripa did 205 “Live” episodes since former partner Michael Strahan walked away from the program, and executive producer Michael Gelman booked 68 different guest co-hosts to keep Ryan Seacrest’s new seat warm. Some of the substitutes have performed better than others — and 18 did better than the “American Idol” alum himself.

TheWrap has done the math and ranked all the guys (and a few women) by their average TV rating, rounded out to three decimal places. It’s important to note that Ripa’s first sidekicks — Jimmy Kimmel, Seal, and Daniel Dae Kim, for a few examples — had the big advantage of being early, when buzz about Strahan’s departure was highest. Megyn Kelly was Ripa’s guest the day after the election, which boosted her lone appearance.

Those who have only done one date skew particularly high if they were early, and low if that appearance was more-recent. Of course, those one-and-dones were never in real contention for the permanent gig anyway.
