Kelly Clarkson Shuts Down Attacks of “Being the Worst Mom Ever” in New Tweet

From Country Living

  • Kelly Clarkson revealed on Twitter that she gave her 6-year-old daughter, River, a purple streak in her hair.

  • To preemptively shut down any criticism, The Voice coach assured followers that the hair dye she used was safe.

Kelly Clarkson and her daughter are having some summer fun — including experimenting with hair color.

On August 1, the “Since U Been Gone” singer shared on Twitter that she spent the day putting purple hair dye in River’s hair. Apparently, the hair color change inspired the 6-year-old to channel her inner Prince and put on a mini performance for Kelly.

While recalling the adorable story, the The Voice coach felt compelled to get ahead of any shamers who may not approve of her decision. Her tweet read, “I put a purple streak in my daughter’s hair today and I swear to you she thinks she is as cool as Prince now 🤣. Full on air guitar, singing at the top of her lungs, that is what’s happening... and before I get attacked for being the worst mom ever, it’s safe, organic paint 🙄.”

Right on cue, fans came to Kelly's defense, sharing words of support for the mother of two.

“It doesn’t matter what others think. You are the coolest mom to her,” one person wrote. “It’s just hair. Whatever makes them feel good right?” another added. “Awesome mom! Love you Kelly ❤️it's good to have fun like old days,” a different fan said. “You are an amazing mom allowing your kids to be who they are and be creative,” a follower commented.

Many fans also shared pics of their own kids with colorful hair. While some opted for temporary hair dye, others chose to go with old-fashioned Kool Aid. “My niece's hair was PURPLE at 4 years old. Have fun with your kiddos Kelly,” one person said.

Here’s to having more summer fun without judgment!
